Welcome to the official group of Peace Corps Volunteer alumni from the Republic of Georgia!
1. To function as an alumni association of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers and Staff that have served in the Republic of Georgia as well as their families and friends.
2. To provide assistance to the people of the Republic of Georgia in three areas:
● humanitarian aid and disaster relief
● education and youth development
● business and social entrepreneurship
3. To fulfill the third goal of Peace Corps through sharing experiences learned during our services with American communities towards cross-cultural understanding.
We are an official affiliate of the National Peace Corps Association. In light of recent political events in the Republic of Georgia, the European Union, and the United States, it is exceedingly difficult to obtain funding for local Georgian NGOs. Therefore, we will be issuing monthly appeals for help.
Our appeal for February 2025
Together for Real Changes (TRC) was co-founded by a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer in 2013. Its mission is to provide the services necessary for persons with disabilities and their families in rural areas of the Republic of Georgia, to reach their physical, emotional, and intellectual potential. TRC is now serving over 200 children and adults with a staff of 35 in the remote and mountainous regions of Georgia, with sites in Borjomi, Mestia, Nukriani, Ambrolauri, Tsageri, and one soon to be opened in Tsalka.
Two TRC friends have already donated but we need to raise an additional $5,000. A Megobari Board member will match the first $2,000 donated.
